Happy New Year in February

As usual, I'm a little late to the party. How is it already February??

Anyway, I'm hoping 2023 is better than 2022. Last year was a doozy, and not in a good way, but we survived and that's something to be grateful for. Right?!(But Lordy, how many times can a girl scream uncle?)

In this new year, we're already deep into Carnival Season here at the Mosaic Cottage. Parties and parades and costumes and FUN!! So much FUN!!!

The next few weeks will fly by with a full calendar of events. Then there is the costume making for Mardi Gras Day....stay tuned! I have most of the materials for this year's costumes, but I have not started making them yet, as your girl is busy, busy (as usual).

I am currently deep into commission work that I am trying to finish up for the Ace Hotel, which I am very grateful for, as paid work makes the world go round. Right?

Speaking of work, I have a million ideas that I want to create. A MILLION!!! I wish mosaic work wasn't so time consuming though. Sometimes I feel like I'll never be able to create all of the ideas in my head due to TIME. Blah! But I will try :-)

Also, I've been dreaming up a few ideas that aren't mosaic. If ya'll know me, you know that I'm always creating. ALWAYS! My mind is kind of a chaotic place with creative ideas constantly swirling in. It's never ending. It works for me, but when I say "the things" out loud, well, I've been told more than once, "one project at a time". Whatever! Pfffft. Anyway, I'm hoping I can find the time to explore where these ideas want to take me, but no worries, I'll always create mosaics....well, as long as my body will allow it.

Lastly, I'm hoping I can show up on this blog more regularly. I feel like I need to set an alarm on my phone or something, in order to make this happen. But I REALLY do want to make it happen, so maybe I will set the alarm. I'm just so tired of the popular social media sites. Sooooo MANY hoops to jump thru and none of it seems genuine. Plus, it can get quite ugly. The only problem is, I can't seem to get very many people to leave it and come to my blog and maybe I need to just be okay with that. For those of you who are here, I am GRATEFUL!! And maybe if I keep plugging away on this blog (REGULARLY), I can get it to grow. Please leave me your thoughts on this.

One more lastly, I'm considering looking for a gallery to work with. I have such a hard time keeping up with everything, but I also know finding a good gallery can be difficult. It's just another thing floating around in my brain. Leave me your thoughts on that too if you want.
